This couple, whose love story began when they met on Facebook during the pandemic, transformed their modern romance into a day filled with elegance, joy, and timeless memories. Their wedding day, like their journey together, was a perfect blend of personal touches and sophisticated beauty.
Amanda first reached out to me in March, initially seeking design services. However, by May, it became clear they needed planning assistance, and with just three months to go, they entrusted my team and me to bring everything together. Weddings of this scale require way more time to plan, but with over a decade of experience in luxury wedding planning, we knew we could deliver something truly extraordinary. As we worked closely with Amanda and Calvin, our relationship grew stronger, and by the end, they became more than clients—they became like family to us.
Held at the picturesque Tom Ham’s Lighthouse in San Diego, CA, their wedding was filled with meaningful details that reflected their love story. Guests were greeted with an elegant champagne tower, setting the tone for a celebration steeped in sophistication. Thoughtful elements like fans for the ceremony and napkins to wipe away happy tears added a personal, intimate feel, ensuring that every guest felt both welcomed and cared for.
One of the most special moments was their love for their dogs, beautifully reflected in the whimsical custom dog-themed drinks. The reception featured playful yet refined touches, like the popcorn station and the luxurious carved ice display featuring shrimp—a standout detail that added an extra touch of grandeur for their guests to enjoy.
Amanda and Calvin’s wedding was a perfect balance of personalization and elegance. Their custom table numbers, featuring photos of the couple at ages 1 through 12, offered guests a glimpse into their individual journeys before they met. This intimate detail made their wedding feel even more connected and special. We also designed their ceremony newspaper programs and other graphic elements, ensuring every part of the day was beautifully cohesive and reflective of their vision.
The atmosphere was set by a talented violinist, adding a romantic ambiance to the ceremony, while the guest enjoyed the Audio Visual Phone Booth, which brought a fun and interactive element to the wedding. The magazine-style photo booth was a hit, providing a stylish space for guests to capture memories, and the stunning chandeliers over each table created a warm, inviting glow throughout the venue. A heartfelt tribute to loved ones came in the form of a beautifully designed Memorial Display Tower, which added a deeply personal and emotional touch.
Guests indulged in an exquisite dessert display, accompanied by customized smart cookie favors that served as thoughtful takeaways. Technology enhanced the evening with QR code uploads for photos, allowing guests to share their memories instantly. The night concluded on a custom dance floor, surrounded by glowing uplighting, ensuring the celebration ended with joy and energy.
The night ended with a magical send-off, where Amanda and Calvin were surrounded by the love and well-wishes of their family and friends, making the perfect conclusion to a day that truly celebrated their journey together.
