Every designer has their own way of looking at a tablescape. For me, it’s never just about pretty things on the table, it’s about how each piece contributes to a larger story.

When I walk into a space, I don’t just see a chair. I see the way it frames the table. I imagine how it will how it will photograph. I think about the moment a guest sits down and feels like they’re part of something beautiful and intentional.

The right chair, to me, is like the perfect pair of earrings. It might not be the first thing you notice, but once it’s there, everything else feel complete.

How I See the Table

Here’s how I personally view the elements that bring a table to life:

• The Chair → The Earrings:
  A finishing touch. Quiet elegance. It frames the look and sets the tone.
• The Florals → The Gown:
  The statement piece. They define the mood and make the first impression.
• The Charger → The Silhouette:
  The structure that grounds everything else.
• The Candles → The Glow:
  The romance, the warmth, the softness that makes the room feel alive.
• The Glassware → The Fragrance:
  The whisper. It’s subtle but unforgettable.
• The Flatware → The Clutch & Heels:
  The polish. The final layer that ties it all together.

The Finishing Flourish

Once the foundation of the table is set, the intimate details bring the entire design closer to the heart:

• Party Favors → The Signature Scent:
  A final note that lingers long after the night ends. A gift that whispers the couple’s story to every guest who takes it home.
• Menus → The Designer Label:
  Understated but essential. Menus are the quiet signature of the celebration, elegant, refined, and often the first tactile moment a guest experiences at the table. I love a good menu!
• Place Cards → The Monogram:
  Personal, bespoke, and tailored to each guest. Place cards make every seat feel intentionally chosen, a subtle way of saying, you belong here.

These details are often held in your guests’ hands, tucked away as keepsakes, or remembered long after the night is over. And that’s the beauty of intentional design, it lives in the memory.
