Monday’s with Marshecka
If you had asked me at the beginning of this year where I planned to invest my time and energy, my answer probably would have included education, design inspiration, business systems, or growing Marshecka Weddings & Events.
Those things still matter. But the best investment I’ve made this year had nothing to do with weddings.
It was investing in myself.
This year, I made the decision to become more intentional about my health, my mindset, and the way I care for myself. I committed to moving my body, making better nutritional choices, creating space for recovery, and protecting my time.
At first, it felt unrelated to my work. Then I realized it was transforming the way I showed up in every area of my life.
I’m more present with my clients.
I’m more creative during the design process.
I make decisions with greater clarity.
Most importantly, I have the capacity to truly serve the people who trust me with one of the most meaningful seasons of their lives.
That realization reminded me of something I believe wholeheartedly.
The best experiences are created when people feel supported, not overwhelmed. And that belief extends far beyond my own life.
It is the very foundation of how we plan weddings.
Why I Created The Marshecka Method
Early in my career, I noticed a pattern.
Couples weren’t necessarily stressed because wedding planning was difficult.
They were stressed because no one had given them a clear process.
Every week, they wondered what they should be doing next.
They questioned whether they were behind.
They worried they were forgetting something important.
Instead of enjoying their engagement, they were constantly reacting.
That’s why I developed The Marshecka Method.
The Marshecka Method is our signature eight-phase planning framework that guides every client from inquiry through the wedding weekend with clarity, strategy, and intentional decision-making.
Our planning process is built around intentional phases that guide our couples from their very first consultation through the wedding weekend. Rather than trying to manage hundreds of decisions all at once, we focus on the right priorities at the right time.
Each phase has a purpose. Each meeting builds upon the last. Each recommendation is made intentionally.
Instead of asking our couples to carry the mental load, we carry it with them.
Brides, Here’s What I Want You to Remember
Your wedding deserves your attention.
But it should never cost you your peace.
I see so many brides trying to manage everything at once.
They’re researching vendors at midnight.
They’re comparing hundreds of Pinterest photos.
They’re worrying about guest counts, family dynamics, timelines, budgets, and details that may never even be noticed.
Somewhere along the way, the excitement becomes exhaustion.
I don’t want that for you.
Whether we’re working together or not, I hope you give yourself permission to slow down.
- Take the walk.
- Schedule the massage.
- Go to dinner with your fiancé without talking about the wedding.
- Protect your weekends.
- Laugh a little more.
Those moments aren’t distractions from planning.
They’re part of preparing for one of the biggest days of your life.
Why Process Matters
One of the greatest compliments I receive from clients is that they feel calmer after our meetings than they did before.
That isn’t by accident.
It’s the result of having a thoughtful process.
The Marshecka Method isn’t simply a checklist.
It’s a framework designed to reduce decision fatigue, create momentum, and help couples feel supported every step of the way.
By breaking the planning journey into intentional phases, we’re able to focus on what matters most in the moment instead of overwhelming you with everything at once.
That’s how beautiful weddings are created.
Not through chaos.
Through clarity.
The Wedding Is One Day. Your Life Is Much Bigger.
Long after the flowers have been packed away and the dance floor is empty, you’ll still have your marriage.
You’ll still have your health.
You’ll still have the person you’ve become throughout this journey.
That’s why I believe one of the most valuable investments you can make during your engagement isn’t another décor upgrade.
It’s investing in yourself.
Because when you feel your best, you’re able to experience your wedding differently.
You’re present.
You’re joyful.
You’re fully there for the moments that matter most.
My Hope for You
As your planner and Creative Director, my role extends far beyond timelines and logistics.
My responsibility is to create an experience where you feel cared for from beginning to end.
One where you never have to wonder what comes next because we’ve already anticipated it.
One where you’re free to spend less time worrying about the wedding and more time preparing for your marriage.
Because at the end of the day, the most beautiful weddings aren’t remembered because every detail was perfect.
They’re remembered because the couple was completely present.
And that’s exactly what The Marshecka Method was designed to protect.
With intention.
With clarity.
With peace.
Our Perspective
One of the first questions I ask every couple isn’t about color palettes or venues.
It’s simply:
How do you want this season of your life to feel?
Because wedding planning isn’t simply about checking tasks off a list.
It’s about protecting your peace while preparing for one of life’s most meaningful celebrations.
That’s exactly why I created The Marshecka Method.
Our signature eight-phase planning framework is designed to remove the uncertainty that so many couples experience. Rather than wondering what comes next or trying to manage every decision on your own, you’ll have a thoughtful process that guides each step with clarity, strategy, and intention.
When the planning feels intentional, you’re free to focus on what matters most: celebrating your engagement, creating meaningful memories, and preparing for your marriage.
At Marshecka Weddings & Events, we believe the most beautiful weddings begin long before the wedding day. They begin with a planning experience that allows you to feel confident, supported, and fully present throughout the journey.
Continue Planning Your Wedding
Planning a wedding involves hundreds of decisions, but you shouldn’t have to navigate them alone.
If you’re planning a wedding in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, San Francisco, or a destination beyond, we’d be honored to guide you through The Marshecka Method and create a celebration that feels as intentional as it is beautiful.
Frequently Asked Questions
What should brides invest in besides their wedding?
Investing in your physical and mental well-being is just as important as investing in your wedding. Healthy habits, quality time with your partner, rest, and support throughout the planning process all contribute to a more enjoyable engagement and wedding day.
How can I reduce stress while planning my wedding?
Delegate responsibilities, work with experienced professionals, maintain routines that support your health, schedule breaks from wedding planning, and remember that not every detail needs to be perfect to create a meaningful celebration.
Is hiring a wedding planner worth the investment?
For many couples, yes. A professional planner manages logistics, communication, timelines, vendor coordination, and countless behind-the-scenes details so you can focus on enjoying your engagement and being fully present on your wedding day.
How do I stay present during my engagement?
Set boundaries around wedding planning, schedule regular date nights without discussing the wedding, continue hobbies and self-care routines, and trust your planning team to guide the process.
